Description
Made in Japan by Matsunaga Stone Co., the King K‑40 Combination Whetstone carries the heritage of the KING Series, renowned for sharpening kitchen knives, chisels, and traditional Japanese tools.
With a #250 coarse grit on the green side and a #1000 finishing grit on the brown side, it’s perfect for restoring and maintaining gardening blades like hori hori knives, sickles, axes and more. It’s invaluable for keeping tools sharp enough to slice through roots, stems, and compacted soil with ease.
The stone requires a brief soak before sharpening, absorbing water to create a smooth, effective surface. Then run the blade gently over the coarse side first, and finishing side afterwards. Once finished, rinse and dry the stone, then hang it using the built‑in cord to ensure proper air‑drying.
Durable and reliable, this whetstone brings Japanese sharpening tradition into everyday garden care.
Dimensions: 13.5cm long, 3cm wide.
Weight: Approximately 250g.
Whetstones are perfect for sharpening tools like the Youngju Grass Sickle with a long straight blade for cutting through green vegetation seamlessly.
After sharpening your blade, applying Camellia Oil will protect it from corrosion.
