Description

Made in Japan by Matsunaga Stone Co., the King K‑80 Combination Whetstone carries the heritage of the KING Series, renowned for sharpening kitchen knives, chisels, and traditional Japanese tools.

With a #250 coarse grit on the green side and a #1000 finishing grit on the brown side, it’s perfect for restoring and maintaining gardening blades like hori hori knives, sickles, axes and more. Manufactured at a high temperature to ensure premium quality, this whetstone is very resistant to wear. It’s invaluable for keeping tools sharp enough to slice through roots, stems, and compacted soil with ease.

The stone requires a brief soak before sharpening, absorbing water to create a smooth, effective surface. Fix the stone to a stable surface, then run the blade gently over the coarse side first, and finishing side afterwards. Once finished, allow the whetstone to dry.

Durable and reliable, this whetstone brings Japanese sharpening tradition into everyday garden care.

Dimensions: 20.5cm long, 5cm wide and 2.5cm thick.
Weight: Approximately 500g.

Whetstones are perfect for sharpening tools like the Nishigaki Hedge Shears, built with signature Japanese precision to slice through hedges, topiary and shrubs.

After sharpening your blade, applying Camellia Oil will protect it from corrosion.
